A little bit TOO Wintery Wonderland, so I treadmilled

I did it again!

I ran on the treadmill for an excessive amount of time/miles and I didn't die of boredom.
Distance - 8 miles
Time - 1:00
1% incline

Nice little progression run.  First mile was at 8:00 and I worked my way down to 7:08 I think (?).  I felt strong and good.

And then I ate a mountain of crap.
It was the runger, I swear.
Runger - n. the hunger experienced during the hours following a strenuous running workout, often an overwhelming sensation.
Totally legit.  I just wish this stuff didn't happen to me on the day The Biggest Loser airs.  It breaks my sense of camaraderie with all the contestants.

As I mentioned in my last post, I missed the blizzard because I was down in Arlington, VA at a philosophy conference.  I was all like this...
And Nemo was all like...

I have to say, though, that Princeton looks good in her snow blanket.  Of course, the snow is already getting dirty and turning black, but I totally appreciated the .5 seconds while it was looking clean and pristine.
I took these pictures today, and they look really foggy because, well, it was foggy today.  A cloud slowly descended upon us and now we are in a thick fog.  Way to go, groundhog.

I'm happy to be back in my apartment with my kitchen.  I'm tired of eating out.  Anybody have any amazing recipes that I could use this week? How do you get back on track with your diet after you've been eating every meal out for a little while?

  2. Wow, that was a quick 8 miles, especially on a treadmill. I swear, I find running on the road so much easier for whatever reason, and not just because of the boredom. I just think the whole activity feels easier! I am very impressed.

Oh my, runger is the worst. I am really focusing on getting better at controlling myself!

Great treadmill run, I haven't made it past 5miles on that thing yet, I hate the beast! I would rather run in snow.

  5. You're 8 miles trumps my 6.5 yesterday. Must. Get. Faster :)

And I am all too familiar with runger it IS real.

Also I am loving your peplum top! You look great!

For me getting back on track is all about meal prep. I just do the basic: roast every vegetable known to man kind (carrots, butternut squash, cauliflower, sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts for this week) bake some chicken breasts, cook up some ground turkey, then quinoa and brown rice and mix and match all week long to be back on track!

  6. Runger is a hazard of the occupation!! Today I went on a run and was just tearing through the kitchen eating everything in sight.

But getting back in it I don't stock the snacks and just bite the bullet and do it cold turkey
