What your stuff says about you

Today's run:

Workout - 1 mile warm up, 6 mile tempo averaging 7:30 pace, 1 mile cool down
Total distance - 8 miles
Total time - 1:02:00

What this log doesn't tell you is that I did the tempo run on the dreadmill!!
Girl in the background is workin' hard.  Unlike me!
It was a sweat fest.  And I even added a tiny bit of core work. ...and some sitting around.
That slick spot could be sweat or slobber.  I'll never tell.
When I got home and finished the dramatics of claiming to Keith that my run almost killed me (I was huffing and puffing!  And my legs felt like noodles on the way home!  And ... and ...I almost died!), I ate everything in sight.

Yeah, it's been a normal day.

Hey, have you ever looked around your house and thought "man, if someone broke into my house they would be able to figure out what kind of person I am in a second flat"?  Well, here's my confession: that's the kind of crap I think about.  Here are a few of the things that totally give away my personality:
With a nightstand like that, there's no missing the fact that I'm a nerd for books.  And, yes, that's a mini statue of Rodin's Thinker.  #philosonerd

...If they weren't convinced by the nightstand.  This is still only a fraction of our books.
The organization of my kitchen utensil drawer reveals my borderline OCD.

Might this girl have an addiction to road races?

She might love wine too.  Again, only a fraction of what I've got.
If someone broke into your house, what would they learn about you?  There are a bunch of pictures of sailboats in our apartment, so the robber would probably think we had a boat.  He probably would be disappointed about breaking into our place, too, because we don't have any good stuff for him to steal.

  1. I am so jealous of your book collection!
People would just instantly see that this girl is a mess and doesn't know what she's doing with her life if they saw my place.. :D

Great running - your pace always amazes me!

  2. Great workout!! That's awesome! I can't do tempos. I get bored way too easily haha
And are you a big sailer? We LOVE boats in my family... hence why I live on one in the summer ;)

  3. Great run! I can't believe you did that on a machine! Yikes!

If someone broke into my house they would have plenty of electronics to steal! Haha. I love gizmos. Still need a running watch tough! I have been keeping an eye on Craigslist.

  4. You survived an hour on the dreadmill??? Good for you! I hate that thing. And tracks are a close second. I like seeing stuff to pass the time on a run.

As for said robbers... They would know I'm a Disney freak because we have all the classics and I mean all of them. Also a parent because Anne's crap takes up the whole space. And a health nut with a slight addiction to chocolate because there are tons of fruits and vegs and unprocessed food.... Then chocolate. Because you so know they would raid your fridge too

  5. Awesome run! You're fast! I am so looking forward to Kripalu! What are you studying in grad school? I also have a lot of books and a lot of workout equipment in my apartment. Oh and a lot of movies. They'd be confused as to whether I'm active or just sit around all day reading and watching movies.

  6. You are brave! After 30 minutes on the dreadmill i lose my focus and start daydreaming. Usually resulting in me falling off the treadmill, haha.

  7. Robbers would think that I am messy and need a better maid. But I would tell them that it is oy that messy when I am training (housework seems to be the first thing that gets cut!)

  8. Great job on the tempo run! My house is usually pretty clean, but they would definitely be able to tell that we love running/races in our house! And wine and beer. Did you get that Naked Wines groupon deal -- I recognize some of the labels? So many tasty ones!
